St. George, Utah and the surrounding areas are stunning to say the least! It’s no wonder we have thousands of people flock to southern Utah every year to see the stunning sights. Often, visitors wants to have photos in the beautiful landscape, can you blame them!? As a St. George family photographer, I wanted to share 5 of the best spots for photos in St. George.
If you’re new here, Hi! I’m Sadie. Your St. George photo location expert, styling assistant, and St. George family photographer (but, like the fun kind). I am here to do everything in my power to make this the least stressful, most comfortable, and most fun photo experience you’ve had.
Since starting my business in 2019, I have photographed over 300 families in Colorado and Oregon. I am so excited to be in St. George, Utah and the surrounding areas–the place that I grew up and now call my family’s home. I can’t wait to meet you and your family!
Kirkland Fields
This might not be the first spot you think of when you think of St. George. However, this is a favorite spot for photos because it is the only green spot in St. George. If you are hoping for a big open field and big trees this is a great spot! I also love this spot in the summer. The sun sets very late in the summer which isn’t always conducive to little one’s sleep schedules. Because of the trees, we are able to start sessions much earlier than “golden” hour. My personal favorite time of year for photos at Kirkland Fields is during the spring. There are flowers and the greenery is a breath of fresh air!

Snow Canyon Petrified Sand Dunes
If you are looking at this photo and thinking, “Wow!” You’re not the only one. The Petrified Sand Dunes in Snow Canyon are incomparable in their uniqueness and sheer beauty. This is easily one of the most popular and versatile spots for photos. With 360 views and beautiful light year-round it’s hard to beat this spot.

Fire Lake Park
This is probably my personal favorite spot for photos in St. George. Wondering why? There’s a few reasons; it’s not as popular so it’s not very crowded, the backdrop is beautiful, and the water adds as a fun flare to everything. Fire Lake Park in Ivins, Utah is located near Santa Clara so it is a bit of a drive but well worth it. This is a dog-friendly spot where you won’t have to fights the crowds (or have lots of people photoshopped out of your photos).

Sand Hollow State Park
I love this spot for young families especially because of all the room it offers to explore and play. The perfect equation for beautiful, fun, and carefree photos. Sand Hollow is also a great spot for larger groups for this same reason too!
