There are so many different locations to take your family photos in Colorado. Especially, in the Denver area. As a family photographer, I know that people think they need to go at least an hour out of town to find the beautiful locations. While this extensive amount of travel is an option, spoiler alert, there are so many locations right in the Denver area that make for the most beautiful photos. Most of these locations are also within less than 30 minutes of downtown Denver.
For example, the Golden History Park, located in Golden, Colorado is an underrated spot that has so much to offer. AND! You would truly never know that this park was right in the middle of a busy suburb and has a baseball park right next to it. Not only is there beautiful scenery, there is also lots of fun historic buildings that make for great photo opps too if you are looking for something a little more rustic.
For this family session, we wanted to focus on the scenery in the park as well as by the river. So that is exactly what we did!
Because of the time of the family photo session, we captured the perfect golden hour lighting. When you are scheduling your own session, be sure to ask your family photographer the best time to take your photos. Good lighting can truly make a huge difference in the outcome of your photos. I promise, it’s worth moving nap time around just a little bit for.
If you are nervous about how your kids will behave during your family photo session, ask your family photographer for some helpful tips. We do this all the time, so we know a few things that can help. You can read a helpful blog about how to have fun photos with younger kids, here.
