When this mom reached out to me, they had just moved to southern Utah and wanted family photos in St. George at the classic red rocks. I mean, they are pretty epic to the area! We worked together to style her family, she ordered the outfits and then a week later, she texted me asking if we could move her session to their home. She was feeling stressed about photos and wanted to document her family in a non-stressful way. She wanted to make images of them playing, coloring in their home school room, reading their favorite book; all the things that do have an expiration date on them.
I was a bit giddy when she messaged me wanting to move things to her home. Everyone just seems to breath a little bit easier when they’re at home in comfortable clothes doing the things they love.
We played memory match, colored, they wrestled with dad and showed me their flips and tricks, they snuggled up and mom read them their favorite book, colored in their homeschool room, and we even ended with a dance party to Hannah Montana’s soundtrack. A millennial mom raising her boys right!
At-home sessions aren’t about a clean house and finding ways to keep me, your photographer, entertained. I let things happen naturally, provide guidance where needed and then you receive a gallery full of images that look and feel like your family.
