This family came all the way from Minnesota to St. George for one last summer adventure before the season wrapped up, and they got the full Southern Utah experience: Sand Hollow, bright sun, and a very serious 112 degrees.
We didn’t waste much time with the formal photos. We knocked out the important groupings while everyone was still willing to cooperate, and then it was time to cool off. The rest of the evening looked a lot more like their actual family life; Playing football on the beach, a quick dip in the water, and cousins running around together.
And then there was Grandma…she very quickly established herself as the matriarch of the group, and it was pretty obvious why. Everyone seemed to orbit around her, and judging by the way they interacted with her, she may have also been the undisputed family favorite.
It wasn’t the most comfortable evening for taking pictures, but it was a pretty great one for remembering. A last little piece of summer, spent together, before everyone headed home.
