Things Your Photographer Wishes You Knew

Just like every industry, there are things you would never know unless you actually work in them. There’s always the slang, the day-to-day tasks, and just knowing how to do the job in general. The photography industry is no different. So, I wanted to let you in on a few things that your photographer wishes you knew, so you can enjoy your session even more. I think education is power, so here’s a little extra power for you!

FOCUS ON THE FUN, NOT THE PHOTOS.
We know that photos can be stressful, but having this mindset can truly make your family photo session an enjoyable experience and not something to just grin and bear through. When you can focus on the fun you are having; interacting with your family, loved-one, dog, etc., we promise your photos will be that much more meaningful to you.

WE CAN’T JUST “PHOTOSHOP THAT OUT”
We get it, your little one bonks their head, the common, pesky zit–we can take care of the small things. But coming to your session with the expectation that your photographer can photoshop anything will make this a disappointing experience for you.

TRUST US
Your photographer absolutely adores you. So when we offer a suggestion around clothing, location, or ask you to adjust slightly during your session, please trust us. We truly have your best interest in mind and want to do everything we can to make sure you absolutely love your photos!

READ THE CONTRACT
Many of the questions you have–when payments are due, when you will receive your photos, etc., are written into your photographer’s contract that you signed when you booked your session. We put this in place to inform and protect you, and we really try to keep it as short and sweet as possible.

WE WANT YOU TO LOVE YOUR PHOTOS, SO WHEN YOU DO, PLEASE TELL US!
Your photographer wants you to love your photos. We understand how important these are and what an investment they are for you and your family, and the truth us, the majority of us are people pleasers. So when you love your photos, tell us! Nothing makes us more happy
